Reading sunglasses are the same as reading glasses but with tinted lenses and UV400 sun protection, so for reading in the sun. We also have a range of bifocal reading sunglasses which have the strength in the lower part of the lens and the upper part is without correction, the whole of the lens provides sun protection and is tinted. These are distinct from bifocal or progressive/varifocal prescription sunglasses which we do not sell and are for all types of vision correction, not just reading.

Reading sunglasses are designed for daytime use when sunlight or glare is present. In the evening, it’s usually best to switch to regular reading glasses without tinted lenses, as darker lenses can make it harder to see clearly in low light. If you move between indoor and outdoor environments throughout the day, photochromic reading sunglasses can be a helpful option.
